Just finished recording this entertaining audio of a flash fiction by Lucy Younghusband.  Lots of fun voices for me to play with, in fact I got to pull out me whole Monty Python toolbox on this one!  9 minutes and change.

‘The Recruit’ is poignant. It reminds me a bit of old timey radio theater, minus the sound fx.  A hapless British husband eager to please his fertile wife and desperate for a job back in 1939 finally lands one with an odd foreign doctor - whose already dubious sounding experiments turn out to be a ghastly deception. :)

Check out the very talented Russil Tamsen reading my story The Recruit.

I loved it! I hope you do too.

Alien Daredevils

TV shows on aliens always run the same wall-eyed tag line: “Will they save us or destroy us?” but those are only the extreme options, aren’t they? It’s far more probable that they will sneak in like ninjas, moon the locals, take a few safari snapshots for the folks back home, and then unass this hornet’s nest of a dimension in a hurry - before the stealth fighters get scrambled.

Quirk Ebooks

Synchronized

You’re watching a DVD and holding your breath through a very quiet, poignant moment in the movie when you realize Taps is playing and you think, wow that is so moody and mournful, what an interesting selection - except it’s not actually on the soundtrack, it’s wafting over your neighborhood from the loudspeakers at MacDill AFB, down the road.
